The Oakland Police Department made an arrest in connection with the fatal hit-and-run of Tzu-Ta Ko, a 100-year-old Oakland resident.
The collision occurred on Sunday just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of 19th and Harrison streets, less than 1,000 feet west of Lake Merritt.
Police were previously searching for a tan or white Mini Cooper in connection with the road death.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found Ko suffering from severe head trauma from the collision. The Oakland Fire Department and Falck Ambulance arrived on scene and provided aid to Ko, who died from his injuries.
It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
