Cat rescued, two hospitalized in San Francisco fire that displaced 13

The blaze broke out in the Richmond District on Thursday morning.

A fire in San Francisco saw two people hospitalized and 13 displaced on 14th Avenue in the Richmond District.

A cat was also rescued from the building but “will be okay,” according to the San Francisco Fire Department (opens in new tab).

The fire department was alerted to the blaze at 9:50 a.m. and arrived five minutes later. The blaze was under control as of 11:41 a.m., officials said.

The fire department also attended to a one-alarm fire at the corner of Presidio Avenue and Washington Street, which broke out around the same time as the 14th Avenue fire.
