BART stations around Daly City have been closed and evacuated due to a “possible hazmat situation” Friday morning.
Affected stations include Daly City and Colma, both of which remain closed as of publication.
The entire intersection of John Daly and Junipero Serra boulevards is completely shut down to vehicle and pedestrian traffic, Daly City police said on Twitter.
"Please try to find an alternate route. Fire and law enforcement personnel are on scene investigating a hazardous material incident," police said.
Update 10:36 am: Daly City station has been evacuated due to possible hazmat situation outside Daly City station. Daly City FD and PD responding to scene.

BART announced earlier Friday morning that it had closed services between Balboa Park and Colma stations on the San Francisco line, due to police activity. Balboa Park Station was briefly closed but reopened at 11:28 a.m.
The closures have caused a headache for Bay Area commuters. Numerous train lines are affected and bus services near the Daly City Station are unavailable at this time. Highway traffic on Interstate 280 is also severely impacted, and BART advises SFO airport riders to travel to the airport via Caltrain in San Francisco.
BART, Daly City's fire authority and police departments have been requested for comment.
