Rain Is in the Forecast for Every Day This Week—Except One

Another storm system moved through the SF Bay Area overnight, waking some residents with high winds, hail pelting windows and big belts of thunder.

This morning’s sunny skies and rainbows won’t last long. The National Weather Service forecast for Sunday for the greater San Francisco Bay Area calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms, with highs in the 50s.

A winter weather advisory is in effect in the East Bay Hills through 4 p.m. Sunday. Elevations above 2,300 feet are forecast to receive 2 to 5 inches of snow. Winds are forecast to be between 30 to 45 mph.

Sunday night calls for a chance of rain with lows in the upper 30s and 40s.

Looking ahead at the 10-day forecast, rain is predicted daily through next Tuesday with the exception of Wednesday. 

Though rainfall should be light for the next few days, a bigger dump of precipitation is forecast for later in the week. At this point, experts are predicting nearly an inch will fall on both Thursday and Friday.
