Inle Burmese Cuisine plans to close its Noe Valley eatery in late December and reopen in a new Inner Sunset location in early January—if all goes smoothly.
The down-to-earth Burmese eatery, which specializes in tea leaf salad, rice dishes and noodles, is moving to 822 Irving St., formerly Patxi’s Pizza. The deep dish chain closed that location and the one in Noe Valley earlier this year, and Patxi’s Hayes Valley is the only remaining SF location.
Inle co-owner Morgan Sue said his restaurant is waiting on the permits to transfer and the health inspection to be finalized. Though Inle opened only months before Covid, he told The Standard that an immediately loyal neighborhood following eased the pandemic pressures.
Sue said his team plans to add a few new items to the menu, including some Thai noodle dishes and vegetarian curries. Inle will also benefit from more space on Irving Street and an outdoor patio that it plans to open in the spring.
He added that he and his partners are looking forward to settling into a neighborhood with a strong Asian community. “The area has a lot of Asian restaurants, but it doesn’t have any Burmese food,” Sue said. “So we’re really excited about the move.”
