A fatal crash in the westbound direction of the Bay Bridge near the on-ramp at Treasure Island Road reportedly killed two people late Wednesday night.

Officers responded to an 11:13 p.m. report of a collision between a car and an SUV, and eight minutes later, a second collision was reported involving a vehicle rear-ending a big-rig truck.

All lanes were blocked, and the coroner was called to the scene at 12:04 a.m.

Two people were killed and Bay Bridge traffic was backed up into the wee hours, the California Highway Patrol told ABC7 News. Authorities told the network that a suspect was taken into custody.
