Fatal Crash on Bay Bridge Blocked All Lanes Early Thursday

A fatal collision on Interstate 80 blocked all but the far right eastbound lane early Thursday on the western span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge as it enters Yerba Buena Island, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to a 2:02 a.m. report of a collision, and all lanes were blocked until one lane was opened about 2:33 a.m. The CHP has contacted the Alameda County Coroner's Office.

All lanes reopened at 3:29 a.m., according to CHP. No further details of the fatality were available at the time of publication.
