Downtown San Francisco BART station closed by police, major delays

The Civic Center station in Downtown San Francisco is closed due to police activity, and there are major delays at SF stations, BART officials said Wednesday evening.

Information about the police activity was not released by BART, which sent out an alert about the closed Civic Center station shortly after 6 p.m.

The Citizen crime reporting app says a person has been stabbed at the Civic Center station, The Standard is yet to verify the reports.

Trains were running through the station without stopping, BART officials said.
SF Muni is providing a bus bridge between 16th Street, Civic Center and Powell stations.

There is a major delay at San Francisco stations in the SFO, Millbrae, Daly City and East Bay directions, according to BART.

BART Police and SFPD did not respond to requests for comment.
