San Jose police arrested a man this week for the production of explosives, police said Thursday.

The suspect, Adam Mirassou, was arrested Monday after a police investigation found over 100 pounds of precursor explosive-making materials, assembly equipment and completed explosives in his home and a San Jose business.

San Jose police said the officers initially located a "destructive device-making operation" in a business on the 1200 block of Old Bayshore Highway between North 10th and North 13th streets after responding to reports of a commercial burglary around 4:17 a.m. Monday and conducting a security sweep of the building.

The San Jose Police Department bomb squad and assaults unit detectives responded to the scene and assisted with an investigation, during which they identified Mirassou as the primary suspect. They later obtained a search warrant for the business and Mirassou's home, where they arrested Mirassou and booked him in Santa Clara County Jail.
