The talents behind a decade-strong San Francisco restaurant appear to have plans for a new venue in another part of the city.

Jonathan Vargas and Ramsey Garcia, the talents behind Fable in the Castro, have applied for an on-site beer and wine license for a new business named Boa’s at 3951 Balboa St. in the Outer Richmond. No additional details were included on the permit.

A 12-month license application was listed on Monday as pending, according to a recent California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The Balboa Street address was previously a dental laboratory training facility. The new restaurant would become neighbors with existing eateries Bitchin’ Baklava and al-Masri Egyptian Restaurant, as well as Kazoku Sushi and Empero Taste.

Fable opened its doors in 2013 and bills itself as the best outdoor patio and brunch in San Francisco.

While regularly offering salads and sandwiches, hearty lunches full of fresh vegetables, rich spreads and generously heaped protein options, it also drew attention for its organic chicken sandwiches at 2022’s Outside Lands Festival.

Vargas and Garcia did not respond to requests for comment by publication time.
