BART is restoring service Wednesday morning after an unauthorized person entered the trackway at a Downtown San Francisco station.

Around 8:50 a.m., BART staff learned a person entered the trackway between Embarcadero and Montgomery stations, BART spokesman James Allison said.

According to one social media post from someone claiming to be riding the train, passengers were told an individual had climbed on top of the train at Montgomery station.

Just before 9:15 a.m., the person returned to the Montgomery station platform and left the station, a BART spokesman said. They were not detained, and there were no reported injuries.

The incident caused delays for trains traveling from Daly City, SFO Airport, Millbrae, and East Bay directions, inconveniencing multiple customers near the end of the morning rush hour.
