This upcoming Dreamforce conference, an annual convention hosted by Salesforce since 2003, could be the last one in San Francisco, the company's CEO, Marc Benioff, told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Benioff said the future of the conference is in peril because of ongoing issues with homelessness and drug use affecting the event, which takes place at the Moscone Center.

Dreamforce, scheduled for Sept. 12-14, is billed as the "largest AI event in the world" on its website.

This year's speakers include Benioff, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and actor Matthew McConaughey. The Foo Fighters are scheduled to perform as well.

Representatives for the conference did not respond to requests for comment.
