Ed Sheeran treated fans to a surprise mini-performance outside a concert merchandise tent ahead of his performance at Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium Saturday night.
The beloved British singer can be seen slinging merch, autographing posters (and someone’s arm) and serenading fans with “American Town” in a video posted to his Instagram account.
Attendance at the concert was reportedly record-breaking: “It’s mad now to have 80,000 people singing (‘The A Team’) back to me,” Sheeran said during the concert, according to the Mercury News, noting that Levi’s Stadium officials informed him that he had set a record before he took the stage.
Sheeran’s concert follows Beyoncé’s performance for her Renaissance World Tour in August and Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in July, which reportedly drew 50,000 and 58,000 respectively.
