A U.S. Postal Service letter carrier was targeted Tuesday in an unsuccessful robbery in San Francisco's Mission District, just days after a colleague lost his keys in a similar attack that officials say "reasonably affects thousands of customers."

The more recent incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday by 26th Street and San Jose Avenue, where someone tried and failed to rob a postal worker, authorities said.

In the other case, which happened around 5:15 p.m. Saturday near 17th and Guerrero streets in the Mission, a U.S. Postal Inspector spokesperson said the mail carrier was shoved to the ground and the keys were taken. But the postal worker came away unscathed, officials added.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a $150,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of suspects in both incidents.
