A San Francisco motorcyclist collided with a Cruise robotaxi Tuesday night in the Holly Park neighborhood in Bernal Heights, according to authorities.

San Francisco firefighters responded at 7:34 p.m. to Mission and Highland streets, where the vehicles struck each other while the Cruise vehicle was traveling northbound, according to a San Francisco Fire Department spokesperson.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation, authorities said. His current condition is unknown.

According to Cruise spokesperson Erik Moser, the robotaxi made a stop on Mission Street when the incident happened.

"A motorcycle traveling behind impacted the AV at approximately 8 mph," Moser said in an email to The Standard. "The motorcycle driver exchanged information with our support team on the scene."

San Francisco fire officials said that they are working with Cruise to determine the cause of the incident.

The incident comes just two weeks after a woman was hit by a car and then trapped under Cruise robotaxi in Downtown San Francisco. The woman was trapped under the autonomous vehicle for less than five minutes after rescuers arrived.
