The boyfriend of a 27-year-old San Francisco woman who was found dead in her Presidio Heights home last month has been charged with murder by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, which alleges he stabbed her to death.

Scott Fisher was arrested on suspicion of murder in Kimberly Wong's death and booked into the county jail last week. San Francisco police said he was arrested Thursday in Concord.

The charges filed against Fisher include an allegation that he used a knife.

At a brief court hearing Monday afternoon, San Francisco Superior Court Judge Victor M. Hwang appointed the Public Defender's Office to represent Fisher and continued his arraignment to Friday morning. As he entered the courtroom, the 29-year-old looked around the gallery, where reporters and Wong's family members and friends were seated.

Fisher, who, according to his LinkedIn profile, most recently worked at the San Francisco-based software company Databricks, uttered only one word—"yes"—when Hwang asked if he agreed with his attorney's request to continue his arraignment.

"We're going to represent Scott Fisher zealously," San Francisco Public Defender Meenha Lee told The Standard after the hearing. "He has the support of his family and us."

Lee declined to answer questions, referring to her office for any additional comment. Wong's family members and friends declined to speak with The Standard.

Fisher remains in custody and is being held without bail.

"I offer my condolences to the victim’s friends and family and my unwavering commitment to pursuing justice in the courtroom," San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said Monday in a statement. "Although there is nothing we can do to bring her back, we will do everything we can to ensure there is accountability and justice."

Wong's killing appeared to be the first domestic violence-related homicide of the year in San Francisco, according to Beverly Upton, a San Francisco advocate against domestic violence.

If convicted of all charges, he faces 26 years to life in prison, the DA said.
