One person was killed and two others were injured after a car overturned in southwest San Francisco Monday night.

The solo vehicle crash occurred around 8:26 p.m. in the area of Junipero Serra Boulevard and Palmetto Avenue, the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement. Officers responded and located one victim lying on the ground and two others suffering from injuries sustained in the crash.

The victim who was lying on the ground was declared dead by paramedics on the scene. The other two victims were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

No additional information was provided. SFPD said it is investigating what caused the vehicle to roll over and whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.

The California Highway Patrol also responded to the incident to assist with traffic control, a spokesperson confirmed to The Standard.
