Charles Gadeken’s illuminated art installation is back in Golden Gate Park for its third winter season, lighting up a grassy field near the Conservatory of Flowers with luminescent trees and sculptural shrubbery. The installation was created in partnership with the San Francisco Parks Alliance and the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.
Gadeken, a Bay Area-based industrial artist, updates the immersive experience each year with added features. This season, visitors will find additional sculptural artworks, including a “fallen tree” that can be sat on, and a new sound system.
QR codes allow attendees to create their own color patterns and twice-a-week performances will fill the glittering forest through mid-March.
