The Portola electronic music festival is officially returning to San Francisco this fall, organizers announced Wednesday.

Currently, no performers have been announced, but the festival's official website made it clear that Pier 80 will once again host two days of throbbing bass and soaring synths on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

"Portola returns!" the site reads. "This is not a drill."

Goldenvoice, the promotion outfit behind the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach Festival in Southern California, first brought Portola to Pier 80 in September of last year. The festival's inaugural installment featured an eclectic two-day lineup of house, techno and other EDM genre-benders to the city

Some of the bigger names that rocked the Portola stage in 2022 included Flume, the Chemical Brothers, Kaytranada and Jamie XX—as well as Oakland chillwave-turned-psychedelic luminary Toro y Moi.

If last year's large turnout and crowd-control issues are any indication, this year will also draw a sea of hyped-up EDM fans.

Though no performers have yet to be announced for the 2023 dates, we've heard through the grapevine that this year will feature its fair share of artists that electronic music devotees will appreciate.

The official Portola website is currently offering an email list signup option for those who want to stay up to date on the latest festival news.
