San Francisco’s Beloved Pi Bar and Pizzeria To Shutter

Don't wait for Pi Day to head to Pi Bar. The beloved Mission pizzeria and bar signaled that it would soon shutter, posting a picture of a transfer of ownership notification to its Instagram account on Friday.
The combo slice shop and tap room has been a popular establishment on Valencia Street between 25th and 26th streets for more than a decade. Pi Bar was known for offering pizza specials based on the number π, including slices for $3.14 between the hours of 3:14 p.m. and 6:28 p.m.
"Thanks to SO many of you for the support and love over the last 13 years!" wrote the restaurant's owners in the post. "We have shared many celebrations together, birthdays, marriages and babies, too have all been part of what has made Pi Bar so special."
Husband-wife co-owners Rich Rosen and Jen Garris attributed the closure to the economically hard times of the pandemic. But there's still time to grab a slice and raise a glass at the pizza joint as Rosen and Garris told SFGATE that they'd close up shop at the end of February.
"Hopefully will be seeing many of you in the next few weeks while we wrap things up! Cheers!" Pi Bar sad in its post.
