San Francisco police responded to two separate school bomb threats early Thursday, although searches found no explosives at either location.

Officers first responded at 9:11 a.m. to the 600 block of Turk Street to reports of an explosive device in a school, and then responded again at a school on the 1000 block of Ellis Street at 9:24 a.m. to a second call regarding an explosive device at a school.

SFPD did not directly identify the schools associated with either threat, but Tenderloin Community Elementary School is located at 627 Turk St., and Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is located at 1055 Ellis St.

SFUSD confirmed that Tenderloin Community Elementary School was evacuated after the school received an anonymous threat shortly after 9 a.m.

"The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We greatly appreciate the efforts of the school community and emergency personnel to keep all students and staff safe during this incident," Dudnick said in an email.

Students and staff at both schools were evacuated because of the threats.

Both incidents are still under investigation, including whether they are related, SFPD said. No arrests have been made.

The San Francisco threats come after Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley was closed down and evacuated due to a bomb threat Wednesday.

Tenderloin Community Elementary School Vice Principal Laura Schmidt-Nojima declined to comment.

San Francisco Unified School District and Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory were contacted for comment.
