A shelter-in-place order due to safety concerns was in effect at a major Downtown San Francisco skyscraper and retail complex on Thursday but was cleared by about 3:45 p.m., according to San Francisco police officers on the scene.

The One Montgomery Tower and connecting Post Montgomery Center were under the protective order, internal emails seen by The Standard said.

Officers were on the scene with bomb-sniffing dogs and carried out sweeps of the area and found nothing, police at the scene said Thursday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, the Standard received a bomb threat related to One Montgomery Tower through an email tip line and immediately contacted the police. The building is a 38-story high-rise located at the corner of Post and Kearny streets.

Crocker Galleria was also under the shelter-in-place order and entrances between the Galleria and 111 Sutter were closed during the police checks, internal emails showed.

A police spokesperson said that at approximately 1:39 p.m., officers responded to a building on Montgomery Street regarding a possible bomb threat.

"Officers arrived on scene and received communication that articulated a possible threat of an explosive device," the police spokesperson said. "Officers established a perimeter, additional SFPD resources arrived and searched the location. Officers deemed the location safe and free of a suspicious device. This incident remains an open and active investigation."
