San Francisco police have arrested a suspect in connection with a brazen shooting inside a Muni train that killed one person and injured an elderly bystander earlier this week.

Javon Green, 26, is being held on suspicion of murder and gun charges in the shooting that killed 27-year-old Nesta Bowen and injured a 70-year-old man, police announced Friday. Investigators believe that the shooting was an “isolated” incident.

The shooting was reported shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Muni station. Police followed the train to the next stop, Castro station, and found the two wounded victims onboard.

While the suspect fled the scene before police arrived, investigators obtained surveillance video from the shooting and released still images of a person of interest.

Late Thursday evening, police arrested Green while serving search and arrest warrants across the Bay on the 1000 block of Power Avenue in Pittsburg.

Green was booked into County Jail on suspicion of murder, carrying a concealed firearm and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
