Man Accused of Attacking Nancy Pelosi’s Husband Heads to Trial

The man accused of attacking Nancy Pelosi’s husband with a hammer is headed to trial after he pleaded not guilty to newly refiled charges, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
David DePape—who stands accused of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary, elder abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and threatening a family member of a public official—is due in San Francisco Superior Court next on Feb. 23.
He faces similar charges in a separate federal case.
Both cases stem from the Oct. 28 attack in which prosecutors say DePape wielded a hammer against Paul Pelosi in front of police during a foiled attempt to kidnap Nancy Pelosi.
