Mayor London Breed threw her support behind the 49ers hosting Super Bowl LX on social media Friday.
"We know what hosting the Super Bowl can do for our region and the City, and we're excited to have the opportunity to welcome Super Bowl LX to the Bay," Breed tweeted.

The Mayor's Office said that it has not been decided whether the 49ers will host Super Bowl LX, but that a decision is expected as soon as next week.
"We remain very excited to have the opportunity to join the rest of the Bay Area in hosting the Super Bowl," said Jeff Cretan said, Breed's spokesman.
The San Francisco 49ers, who play at Levi's Stadium, last hosted Super Bowl 50 in 2016.
Levi's Stadium is located in Santa Clara, but for Super Bowl 50, San Francisco held events and parties as a means to draw Super Bowl ticket holders to stay in San Francisco hotels and patronize local businesses.
Hosting Super Bowls can be a major source of revenue as people flock to cities and use their public transit, stay in hotels and dine at local bars and restaurants. Super Bowl 50 generated $11.6 million in city revenue for San Francisco, primarily through hotel and sales taxes.
Further details of any organized parties or events in San Francisco for Super Bowl LX have not yet been announced.
