A man was stabbed to death early Tuesday in Downtown San Francisco, police said.
Police responded to reports of a stabbing on Main Street between Folsom and Harrison streets at approximately 2:35 a.m.
Officers located a 43-year-old adult man suffering from apparent stab wounds and rendered aid on the scene. The man was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.
The incident is being investigated by the SFPD Homicide Detail, no arrests have been made and this remains an active investigation, police said.
The latest SFPD data shows a small 6% jump in violent crime in the city, the equivalent of 75 more violent crimes. There were 12 homicides in San Francisco this year as of April 2, compared to 10 in the same year-to-date period in 2022.
