Caltrain Strikes, Kills Person in Tunnel to San Francisco’s Bayshore Station

A person was struck and killed by a southbound train in a tunnel between San Francisco's 22nd Street and Bayshore stations, Caltrain said Friday night.

Train 516 was carrying about 96 passengers, and no injuries were reported aboard, Caltrain said in a statement.

The fatality, the seventh this year, was reported at about 7:30 p.m.
