The SOMA Tent reopened after abruptly closing on the first day of Outside Lands, festival organizers confirmed Saturday in an email to The Standard.

Four DJ sets were canceled when the popular dance venue shut down Friday after the wooden floor splintered under the weight of people dancing.

Festival organizers announced the closure around 5 p.m. Friday, saying they were calling off the rest of the day's performances in the pop-up dance club in Marx Meadow "for the safety of our audience."

An Instagram story posted by DJ Justin Jay said his scheduled set in the SOMA Tent was canceled because "the floor gave in."

No one booked to play in the SOMA Tent Friday was rescheduled for today, an operations manager at the venue told The Standard.

But the same manager said festival organizers gave Claptone, one of the performers whose set was called off, a consolation prize that doubled as a gift for what happened to be his 50th birthday: a cake and a suite at the main stage to watch Friday's Outside Lands headliner, Kendrick Lamar.

Other sets canceled Friday included DJ Sama’ Abdulhadi, DJ Denis Sulta and SOMA Tent's main act of the night, Daniel Avery.

The structural damage at the venue owed to wetter-than-usual soil that destabilized the SOMA Tent floor just a half-foot above ground, the operations manager explained.

Crews worked through the night to reinforce the floor, the manager added, and three San Francisco fire marshals signed off on those repairs today, clearing the tent to reopen.

Starting with VNSSA, all sets will be on time, but SOMA Tent managers are going to meter the pace of general-admission entry, meaning already-long lines may be longer.
