What Are the Hottest Destinations for San Francisco Int’l Airport Travelers? See the List

San Francisco Bay Area residents love coming home to this beautiful region. They also enjoy escaping it from time to time.

With the award-winning San Francisco International Airport on our doorstep, getting away and returning can be a breeze.

And with summer all but over, fall travel plans are right around the corner. But where are Bay Area travelers headed this fall? Travel tech firm Expedia has revealed the most sought-after destinations for SFO travelers in the coming months.

Between Jan. 1 and July 30, SFO passengers searching for departing flights between Sept. 1 and Nov. 30 were most interested in the foreign destinations below:

  • Hong Kong
  • London, England
  • Cancun, Mexico
  • Rome, Italy
  • Paris, France

The top domestic destinations for fall from SFO, according to Expedia, are:

  • Las Vegas
  • Los Angeles
  • New York City
  • Miami

SFO spokesperson Doug Yakel said in terms of booked flights for 2023 in total, the following are the most popular:

International

  • London, England
  • Guadalajara, Mexico
  • San José del Cabo, Mexico
  • Cancún, Mexico
  • Paris, France

Domestic

  • Los Angeles
  • New York City
  • Boston
  • Seattle
  • Chicago
