San Francisco police arrested a suspect Thursday in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in the Mission District this summer.

The suspect, 21-year-old Antonio Malik Rodgers-Alcala, was located around 1:30 p.m. near the 800 block of Schwerin Street in Daly City, said the SFPD. Police said Rodgers-Alcala tried to flee but was apprehended by officers and booked into San Francisco County Jail.

Simultaneously, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Rodgers-Alcala’s Daly City home and confiscated evidence they believe is linked to the homicide.

The shooting took place around 3 p.m. Aug. 18 near the intersection of Harrison and 20th streets. Officers responded to reports of gunshots and found a victim who had been allegedly been shot by Rodgers-Alcala.
