1 dead, 1 hurt in Mission Bay shooting

San Francisco police are investigating a homicide after a shooting left one man dead and another injured early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting just after midnight on Berry Street between Fifth and King streets in Mission Bay. They found two adult male victims, one with life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Officers administered aid until paramedics arrived and transported the critically injured victim to an area hospital. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the man died at the hospital.

The second victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also treated at the scene before going to the hospital.

Police have not released the identities of the victims. The homicide detail is leading the investigation into the shootings.

The shootings mark San Francisco’s second homicide of 2024. Last year, the city recorded a total of 56 homicides.
