It’s Time To Start Meal Planning For SF Restaurant Week

The Golden Gate Restaurant Association has announced its newest slate of participating eateries and special menus for the upcoming spring installment San Francisco Restaurant Week.

The 10-day event, which begins Friday, April 14, and runs through Sunday, April 23, is—as always—an opportunity to "try new places and return to old favorites," according to Amy Cleary, director of public policy and media relations for the Golden Gate Restaurant Association.

In addition to providing an opportunity for the local dining industry to drum up business—"Restaurants still are in the process of recovering," Cleary said—this spring's roster of restaurants includes a number of Chinatown eateries that have not historically been a part of the event.

Over the fall, during the last SF Restaurant Week event, organizers made a big push to get restaurants in San Francisco's Chinatown to participate, Cleary said, adding that she was happy to report many of them are returning for the spring.

Cleary encouraged those interested in taking advantage of the special offerings of restaurant week to start planning their itineraries now, as popular spots tend to get booked up.

"This is a good time to start looking for places where you might want to book a reservation," Cleary said.

Eating out during restaurant week makes budgeting for meals a bit simpler for hungry locals, as participating eateries offer "prix fixe lunch, brunch and dinner menus for takeout, delivery, indoor and outdoor dining" at eight predetermined price points: Brunch or Lunch (2+ items or courses) for $10, $15, $25 and $30; Dinner (3+ items or courses) for $30, $45, $65, $75

Currently, more than 175 restaurants are lined up for the spring event with more expected to be added in the coming weeks.
