Fermentation Lab, a gastropub near Civic Center, will open a second location in Japantown by early April.

Hoodline teased the news back in May, projecting an opening date in the summer. After some delay, Fermentation Lab general manager Jakub Przybyszewski said it's on course to open in the spring of 2023. The Japantown pub will have a full bar, along with 21 taps of beer wine and nitro-infused cocktails.

Fermentation Lab, as the name suggests, is known for its housemate pickled products—everything from spears to kimchi and okra.

The gastropub's second spot will be located at 1700 Post St., just above Pagoda karaoke bar and close to several sushi bars and clubs.

"We're super excited to have a second location," Przybyszewski said.
