Beer, bands and bargains are on tap at this Alameda brewery’s surf rock party

Few things go together like rock and roll and an ice-cold beer. Throw in some vintage tiki decor, and you have yourself a veritable surf rock party.

The Alameda Rock & Roll Flea Market brings the spirit of aloha to Faction Brewing on July 22.

The day of live music, craft beer and local vendors brings together a surf-infused set of musical artists and artisans this summer.

Presented by the popular satellite radio channel Little Steven’s Underground Garage, and sponsored by Amoeba Music, Faction Brewing, two local record labels and Singaporean food truck Satay by the Bay, the market’s musical lineup features the Boss Martians (Seattle), Soraia (Philadelphia), Stay Out (East Bay) and Par Avion (LA).

Food trucks will be serving meals and snacks, and Faction will be serving cold ones, while a roster of 100 vendors will be selling retro records, handmade jewelry, musical instruments and an array of Hawaiiana memorabilia. Kids 12 and under get in for free, and adults can snag tickets for just $5 on Eventbrite. Advanced registration is encouraged.
