San Francisco City Hall welcomed couples to celebrate their love and tie the knot Tuesday at a special Valentine’s Day marriage celebration.

The Office of the County Clerk performed more than double the number of marriages typically performed in a single day. Each couple also received a long-stemmed rose, candy and a Valentine’s Day Souvenir Marriage Certificate to celebrate the occasion.

There was barely a dry eye under City Hall’s gold-embellished dome.

Noel and Kelly Antonio, one of 250 couples to get married Tuesday, told The Standard "it was only right to do it in the city we love.”

“And on Valentine’s Day, so it was perfect!” added Kelly.

Another perk of getting married on Valentine’s Day is it’s hard to forget the date—that’s according to Jeremy Yancey and Fabio de Andrade, who also tied the knot.

“It’s easy! An easy day to remember,” said Yancey.
