The second spinoff of treasured Italian American institution Original Joe's will be flipping house-made pizza dough in the Marina by July.

Dubbed Little Original Joes, the concept—which has been described as "part takeout restaurant, part marketplace and part rotisserie"—will serve much of the familiar comfort food Original Joe's regulars have come to love alongside ready-to-eat takeaway items, frozen pasta and fresh sauces.

Teisha Hayes, a supervisor at the West Portal location of the flagship Little Original Joe's, confirmed a summer 2023 opening date at 2301 Chestnut St.—on the same block as fellow Italian eatery A16 and Marina mainstay Causwells, which reopened last fall.

The Chronicle first spilled the tea that brother and sister team John and Elena Duggan had secured a storefront at Chestnut and Scott streets, though the opening was originally slated for late 2022.

Like the West Portal spot, the Marina location will serve pasta, sandwiches and rotisserie chicken. What sets the newest Little OJ's apart is that it will also feature a full-service restaurant.

The Duggan siblings debuted Little Original Joe's in West Portal at the end of 2020. They also operate Original Joe's locations in North Beach and Daly City, and there are plans to expand to the East Bay with a Walnut Creek outpost in 2024.
