You may think of going to Chase Center only to watch the Golden State Warriors or see a concert, but Thrive City, the more than three-acre gathering space surrounding the sports arena, has a slate of spring and summer programs—all of which are free and open to the public.

A highlight of the schedule is the Oakland-based and Grammy Award-winning musician, Fantastic Negrito, who will give a solo acoustic performance on April 22. The event also includes an immersive open-air market in honor of Earth Day.

Other events range from film screenings to a sober dance party, live music to weekly fitness classes. There’s something here for everyone. And when you’re finished with all that dancing, exercising and singing, you can quench your thirst and fill your belly at one of the many establishments lining the space, including Gott’s Roadside, Harmonic Brewing, Philz Coffee, Mission Bay Wine Bar and more.

The series launches on Sunday, April 2, with a morning yoga class followed by a dance party with guest DJs—and healthy food and drink.

Next up is a live music series. Starting on April 4, Tuesday afternoons at Thrive will feature a range of performers, such as Coyote Creates and Dwayne Charles.

Free weekly fitness classes begin on April 5 and continue every Wednesday (and some Sundays) through June 28, with options including yoga, pilates and HIIT—or “high-intensity interval training.”

One-off events include a spring-themed golf day with an on-site golf instructor and six-hole miniature golf course, a kid-friendly music series called Rock and Roll Playhouse and a Mother’s Day film screening of Freaky Friday.
