This popular Mission bar is the latest to close for good

Trick Dog’s sister bar Chezchez—known for its tinned fish and fizzy spritzes—closed for good earlier this year, as first reported by Eater SF.

Chezchez opened with great buzz in August 2021, quickly growing scores of devotees by serving up simple drinks—including multiple riffs on the Bloody Mary—and small bites to Mission crowds.

The heated terrace offered a mix of seating, and the bright and airy bar had a private event space upstairs.

A more straightforward version of older sister Trick Dog, Chechez favored familiar, well-known drinks over the complicated cocktails on its sibling’s highly labor intensive menu

Chezchez took over the Bon Voyage travel-themed cocktail bar at 548 Valencia St. and was operated by BV Hospitality, which continues to run the longtime Mission bar Trick Dog—still in service seven days a week.
