Soon you’ll be able to shop for $1,600 chairs and eat caviar at the same time, if a luxury retailer’s plans to set up shop in Palo Alto come to fruition.
Restoration Hardware is planning a retail space-plus-restaurant in the city, which sits next to Stanford University.
According to plans filed with the city on Sept. 25, the three-story building would rise 50 feet and would be 41,850 square feet.
The developer is Simon Property Group, the largest owner of shopping centers in the U.S. and owner of the Stanford Shopping Center, where the new RH location is planned.
Renderings show a restaurant space on the top floor with a glass roof and at least 30 tables.
RH already has a San Francisco retail location with a restaurant in the Dogpatch neighborhood. Its lunch menu includes a $110 wagyu ribeye steak and caviar dishes ranging from $45 to $215, depending on type and portion size.
The plans make no mention of when construction would begin or when the new location may open.
Restoration Hardware has had a location on Palo Alto’s University Avenue for several years.
RH and Simon Property Group have been contacted for comment.
