Watch rock & roll royalty play iconic Pink Floyd album at stunning Wine Country venue

Comedian Dave Chappelle quipped last year that he’d never return to Napa’s “dusty ass” fields, but he’s set to return to wine country nonetheless for the second annual Blue Note Jazz Festival at the Silverado Resort this July. Blue Note’s seasonal supporting concert series, Summer Sessions, will also follow suit, moving to the swanky resort this May with a lineup fit for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

After a 20-year hiatus, legendary Primus bassist Les Claypool will reunite with his Fearless Flying Frog Brigade at Summer Sessions’ kickoff concert on May 19. The band is slated to play Pink Floyd’s iconic Animals album in full, which is appropriate considering the group features Harry Waters—the son of Pink Floyd founder Roger Waters. But the rock & roll royalty doesn’t stop there: Sean Lennon is also a member of the group and will be making his Fearless Flying Frogs’ debut. The son of Beatles founder John Lennon has previously shared the stage with Claypool in the Claypool Lennon Delirium. The backdrop for the reunion of rock & roll royalty will be Silverado Resort’s 1,200 rolling acres of vineyards, oak groves and a 36-hole golf course.

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Emmylou Harris concludes opening weekend on May 21. Jazz artist Chris Botti and contemporary pop vocalist-songwriter Rufus Wainwright follow up later in the summer. A mini Latin alternative music festival closes out the month of June featuring LA-based rockers La Santa Cecilia and Las Cafeteras as well as Oakland-based La Misa Negra. Folk songwriter Judy Collins stops by for a special performance on July 7 and stand-up comedian and actor Marlon Wayans performs on July 15 to promote his new Netflix special “God Loves Me.”
